I have gone into the file options and made sure the box in advanced settings was checked for "Show preview handlers in preview pane". Unchecked and you do not get a preview. I have changed the icon size view settings to see if that would make the extra space in preview go away and it does not. I'm not sure if this was removed in the latest update or not, but I'm no longer able to edit JPEG details from the details pane on the side.
