I would trend the amplitudes (unless they are unusually large).The system is stabilizable with a closed loop relaxed control, e.g. v (x) = 0 if x , 0 and v (x) = 1 if x < 0. The discontinuity at 0 cannot be overcome since unless the measure given by v (x) to 0 for x > 0 is at least 1/4 and for x < 0 ….
