Another good test to isolate the key switch/harness wiring from the battery/starter system is to jump the solenoid to engage the starter. Replace the old gears with a new one. 6. Tight or loose steering wheel. There are two main issues with the Deere 6400 tractor. You need to see if that is getting 12VDC to it and if it clicks, what the voltage is now on that large red wire once it clicks. It could easily be a neutral safety switch. Wayne.
