They could not get the pco-scop to register a high enough vibration so they would not warranty the repair. The latest transmission fluid (Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP, part number 19417577, blue stripe on the bottle and not black) that actually fixes the problem came out in Jan 2019 as part of TSB 18-NA-355, so unless your A8 was flushed with this specific fluid, it can develop the shudder. I just had the Transmission flush TSB 18-NA-355 performed today. I swear my engine and exhaust sound noticeably quieter after the flush. .
